Winners!
by Jen Hatmaker on July 24th, 2012

Just a quick little blog to declare the winners of the book giveaway from last week!

To make good even better, three people offered to double the giveaway for Hugh Halter's book, Sacrilege, so I didn't have just two to give away...I had eight! I used random.org to select winners, and here they are:

Heather
Andi Weathersbee
Brenda Torres
Kelly Bollman
Tracey Young
Angie Osborne
D.L. Mayfield
Mindy W

(All the Heathers are like, IS IT MEEEEEE?????!!! The correct Heather, in addition to the other winners, has an email in her inbox. Boom goes the dynamite.)

For the 324 non-winners, may I humbly suggest you grab a copy anyway? Here is the trailer for Sacrilege to push you over the edge:

Next up: The two winners of Anything by Jennie Allen! So glad to send copies to:

Samantha Werner
Mary Clifford

Congrats, you two! And for the rest of you good readers, you're going to want to read this anyway. Need a nudge? Here is the trailer for Anything:

So humbled and grateful that these are my friends. So proud of their voices for the kingdom. So moved and challenged by their messages. You will be too. I promise. Thank you for your comments and vulnerability last week. Me and Hugh and Jennie read every one (Hugh texted me to say "he had something in his eye" after reading your responses). It is such a gift to be a believer in this time and place, surrounded by such courage and devotion and desire for Christ. Count on our prayers for you as we all "fail forward" together, hungry for the ways of Jesus and anxious to contend for His glory.

Just watched both of these videos. Must. get. them. :) I loved the line at the end of the Sacrilege video - "I flipped a guy off and he started coming to our church." Wow. A real person.....sharing his story. The world needs more of this.

Congrats everyone. I won a coconut cake when I was 9. Fall carnival cake walk. That just about sums up my winners luck. Happy reading all. Our group just ordered Sacrilege. Thnx for recommendations.

Wow! Just realized I em'd you to say I never win anything, when in fact I just did! Just saw trailer . I am excited and scared out of my wits at the same time yo see what God is going to do in my life. Winning this book is no accident: He has been practically yelling in my ear about changes He wants to make n me and my life. So thank You Lord for this work you are doing in me, I know You will be faithful to complete it.

The uniqueness of authenticity is that it is ugly, beautiful and appealing. That's Jennie and Hugh.

I reserved 2 books at my library (Tina Fey's was one of those), and then purchased the others thru Amazon 'cause my library did not have them. I am $50 poorer....but just reading "Interrupted" has convinced me that I want to know (and experience) what YOU know. Thanks for the reading list, Jen. I am in love with you (don't tell my husband).

Watching the Sacrilege trailer and my heart is POUNDING. Not sure it's out of fear or excitement. I feel the nudge. I hear the whisper. I have for awhile now. I know who it is. But I'm realizing I'm at the point where I cannot play dumb anymore or wave it away like a bothersome cobweb. It's more forceful. Louder. (And freakin' persistent!) If it's a cobweb, it's been wafting in my face for close to 20 months now and it's nudging me for attention. My honest viewpoint right now: I'm scared of what He's going to ask of me.

Hope this books helps me execute without the fear tangling up my mouth and feet...

Thanks for the video! I did already buy Sacrilege. I figured if I did happen to win I'd have a printed version of my ebook!

Don't know how else best to get you this info...hate to take over your FB wall! :) We adopted from Uganda this past year and are now beginning a domestic adoption process. Would love to have you (and your friends) help us along with prayer and follow along...contribute how the Lord leads. I don't recall getting rid of any gold being a part of the 7 purging...that's our first fundraiser... ;) Hope Brandon's birthday goes great!

Thank you Jen for stretching and growing us. To God be the glory!

I'm a little behind the ball it seems but so looking forward to reading these books. Why is it I tell my kids, "God can do anything," and yet, I wonder? Why is it I am relentless at riding my life of "religion" but I've nearly made a religion out that? I am a pastors wife and mother to 4 beautiful children, but don't feel like I look much like Jesus at all. Thanks for the encouragement and willingness to write about the journey our precious Jesus has taken you all on - can't wait to jump in.

I know that I will read Sacrilege, all my prays are that I can live Jesus. I want to take the relegion out of my thoughts, acts, deeds and words. So....it looks like a beginning to a new life, a Jesus life. Thank you for encouraging words.
