Parenting LGBTQIA+ Tweens & Teens - Jen Hatmaker

Parenting LGBTQIA+ For the Rest of Us

One of my greatest sadnesses in my life is that I did not do my own work early enough so that my own daughter, Sydney, felt safe and beloved in her journey to discovering herself and who she was beautifully made to be.

In this course, we will walk through essential questions and learnings on how to become more educated in the LGBTQIA+ space, navigate our own feelings and improve our parenting responses, understand our child’s journey, and feel less alone in the process.

This very special and very important course is a roadmap for all the moms and dads and parents and guardians of LGBTQIA+ tweens and teens. It’s also for those reexamining what they’ve always been taught in the church, for those asking new questions, for allies and friends, for pastors and faith leaders, and more. But it’s really for our kids, our next generation, because the positive change starts here. With all of us.

After taking this course on Parenting LGBTQIA+ Tweens & Teens, you will be able to:

  1. Understand LGBTQIA+ terminology — and why it’s so important to have this foundation.
  2. Better navigate the uncharted waters of being a parent with an LGBTQIA+ tween or teen — and feel less alone in the process.
  3. Know what to do if your tween or teen comes out to you.
  4. Learn how to establish boundaries, belonging, and safety for your child — physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually.

This course will help you feel more prepared, empowered, and confident as a parent.

“For all the moms and dads and parents and guardians of LGBTQIA+ tweens and teens, this course will guide you on the healthiest ways to respond to your child and walk through this journey together.”
